Bruce Allen, get your phone ready
According to the Newark Star Ledger this morning, the New York Jets are going to announce the release of OG Alan Faneca. Faneca was linked to several pre-draft trade rumors but his contract numbers most likely scared off any possible suitors.

Haynesworth exiting Washington
As I wrote for the past few weeks, despite what ESPN’s Adam Schefter was reporting, Washington Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth will be moved tonight. There is no doubt in my mind with the offseason moves the Redskins have made by bringing in DT’s who are familiar with the 3-4 defensive scheme that Haynesworth doesn’t wish to play in.
The Redskins select……….
OT Trent Williams.
Pre-draft speculation had S Eric Berry climbing up the boards as late as 6 pm tonight. Williams has great talent and I’m surprised that the Redskins didn’t select Russel Okung, but any help is needed on the O-Line for the Redskins.
McNabb Mancrush on TO? I told you.
Right after QB Donovan McNabb was traded to the Redskins, I said 15 days ago to watch for a Washington signing of the out of work WR Terrell Owens and now there’s a knock knock at the door……
DT Howard Green Signed
As I reported last week, the Redskins were looking at signing DT/NT Howard Green.
Washington announced today that they have signed 31 year old Howard Green to a 1 year contract. Green played his college ball at Louisiana State University and while he is 31 years old, only has played 5 years of professional football. He’s officially listed at 6′ 2″ 320 pounds and suited to play nose tackle in the new Redskins defensive scheme of 3-4.
Green broke into the league in 2003 with the New Orleans Saints, played 2 years in Seattle and last year in New York with the Jets. Green has one career sack during his 5 years in the NFL, and was absent from the game in 2005 and 2006.
