Haynesworth already injured

After already failing two conditioning tests, Washington Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth decided this morning that the third time wasn’t the charm. He now has a knee injury. Earlier this month we heard from Haynesworth’s personal trainer who said Albert was “going to open some eyes” when he rported to training camp.

Well, he’s opening Redskin owner Dan Synders’ eyes to how stupid he was to sign and pay this piece of human debris tens of millions of dollars.

Haynesworth is unable to complete two 300 yard timed shuttle runs and he’s pitching a fit because he is the only player which has to complete the conditioning test because he skipped every Redskins off season program. Well, I had just paid you tens of millions and you gave me the virtual finger in the offseason, you’d jump through hoops for me too.

Mike Shanhan addressed the media after practice and said, “Here’s a setback already. His knee’s a bit swollen. Hopefully it’s not too bad”.

But Redskins fans were led to believe that Haynesworth was going to be a version of a Greek God, according to his personal trainer. Instead he took millions from the Redskins ownership and showed up unable to run 2 300 yard shuttles. Come on Dan, grow a pair and take your losses. Cut this loser and if you do, I hope the rest of the owners in the NFL blackball his ass. You don’t deserve the privilege of playing in the NFL, let alone be paid millions for accomplishing virtually nothing on the field.

Redskins Haynesworth was set up? Please.

After failing a conditioning test yesterday, some in the media are questioning if Washington Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth was set up by head coach Mike Shanahan. It is being reported that Haynesworth was the only one given a conditioning test. It would seem to me that Mike Shanahan might know which of his players came to camp in shape, which ones participated in off season activities and then you have Albert.

Well, remember this a few weeks ago? Haynesworth’s personal trainer came out and said, “Albert will open some eyes” in training camp. So, while he did show up to camp looking as if he has actually shed some pounds, he was unable to compete in a simple conditioning test.

I feel that coach Shanahan was totally within his right to administer a conditioning test to Haynesworth. Shanahan hasn’t seen Haynesworth all off season and needed to see what he had in the multi-million dollar defensive tackle. Other players joined the Redskins off season programs, bought into the new defensive scheme while Haynesworth was elsewhere.

The thought that Haynesworth was set up is simply ridiculous. The Redskins have paid the underachieving player 10′s of millions of dollars. Ownership held up their end of the contract but Haynesworth didn’t. It’s not like Shanhan asked something outrageous from Haynesworth on his first day in camp. He wasn’t asked to pull a jumbo jet with his teeth, he was asked to run some gassers and he wasn’t able to. After all off season the media was hammering Haynesworth and now some in the press are asking if he was set up? Really?

Nearly 40, Galloway on Washington Redskins first team?

Yesterday, WR Joey Galloway lined up to practice with the Washington Redskins first team offense. This should be of great concern to Redskin fans. Galloway played with the New England Patriots last season after being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his last season with the Bucs, then head coach Jon Gruden reffered to Galloway as the “White Tiger”. Not because he was fierce on the field, but because he was seen on the field about as often as someone gets to see a white tiger, rarely. Three years ago, the Bucs gave Galloway two days a week off in order to keep him fresh for game day.

Galloway’s best days are long behind him, and if the Redskins can’t get Devin Thomas or Malcom Kelly to unseat him with the first team. This issue should have been addressed in the offseason. Galloway will not last the entire season and the weakness the Redskins have at receiver will be exploited early in the season.

Well, finally some of the top first round picks are starting to sign, and the Washington Redskins have now signed first round selection, OT Trent Williams. According to ESPN, the deal is for 6 years, worth approximately 60 million with 36.75 million guaranteed.

Williams is expected to be the Redskins starting left tackle heading into the 2010 season as head coach Mike Shanahan tries to rebuild the Redskins offensive line, which was horrible last season.
